Parkersville High School is doing their annual food drive this month. All food goes to the Parkersville First Christian Church Food Bank. Any canned food is fine, just make sure you can read the label. Drop offs at PHS, PG's and VFD Station 1. Show your Parkersville Pride!

New Officer On Patrol

Meet the newest West Virginia State Police Officer assigned to our district. Officer Alan Beal (center) is a local - having grown up in Hunter. Officer Beal brings the substation back up to full strength after the recent retirement of Officer Petzer. This month's 'Trooper Talk' will feature Officer Beal as the guest speaker.

Cooper's Hawks

A nest has been spotted on top of the Exxon sign at Hank's. Two beautiful hawks have been seen protecting the area. The sign is still lit but Mr. Cavoletti has stopped it from rotating for now.

Parkersville Volunteer Fire Department is looking for a few good people to add to their ranks. There's an Information Session on the 13th. You must be 18 years of age, in good health and possess your own vehicle. Contact PVFD at City Hall or drop by Station 1 if you're interested.

Raccoons Try to Steal the Show

A gaze of raccoons got into the back of the Rialto Theatre and chewed up a fair bit of wiring. PVFD had to inspect to make sure it wouldn't stop the Film Fest. Ended up being a moot point.
